Monday: This is our last day of classes! I’m not gonna lie - I’m incredibly sad that the year is nearly over! These kids are remarkable - and while I know they’ll be so successful in 8th grade and beyond, I will miss them terribly! It’s been a really different year - but it’s been great. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday: We’ll be spending the majority of this week reviewing for our upcoming test. The activity will be an escape room and will provide lots of opportunities to review ancient Greece!
Friday: We will spend the period reviewing our escape room. Our test was originally scheduled for today but I would like to ensure the students are feeling good about the information. Our test will be next Monday and Tuesday (depending on which day your class period meets).
OCTOBER 5 - 7
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday: This is a short week! We will follow the Friday schedule each day, so I'll get to see each student all 3 days! This week we will be focused on Greek achievements and how they have lasted through time and continue to impact us today!

SEPTEMBER 28 - OCTOBER 2
Monday or Tuesday: We will continue our study of ancient Greece by looking at the Golden Age of Athens and its impact on the culture. We will also be making a map of our very own polis (city).
Wednesday or Thursday: We will study Alexander the Great - what made him so great?? A fun art activity will be part of our lesson!
Friday: This will be a catch up day, or students will have the opportunity to work on the Athens vs. Sparta poem.

Friday: The students will have the opportunity to work independently or in small groups on a poem/song about Athens vs. Sparta!

This is our first regular schedule of classes! The kids are doing a great job with keeping up with Zoom! They are amazing!
Our weekly breakdown is:
Monday or Tuesday: Begin Ancient Greece by taking a look at the geography and seeing how it impacted the settlement.
Wednesday or Thursday: We will learn about the rise of democracy in Greece!
Friday: Our People of the World project is due, and we will have a note check on our Historical Thinking Vocabulary from last week. Yes - they can use their notes! :)

Our first week of classes - and it's a short one! We will begin by completing our new textbook scavenger hunt in class to familiarize ourselves with the online text. We will then learn the Historical Thinking vocabulary and play a game together to reinforce what we've just gone over. These are important terms we will use all year! We will discuss proper note-taking skills to make the most of our study time.
Finally, we will begin our People of the World project. The second block day of the week (either Wednesday or Friday) will mainly be used as a work period, so very little work should need to be done at home. This will be due by September 18th but can be turned in early.
AUGUST 31 - SEPTEMBER 4
Welcome to 7th grade! I'm excited for a great year! We're starting this week off just getting to know each other and our brand new school (WOW!!), with our first actual day of classes on Friday! We're following the A schedule on Monday (Team Blue) and Tuesday (Team White) and the B schedule on Wednesday (Team Blue) and Thursday (Team White).
Team White - remember I'll be posting the Zoom info in Google Classroom - don't forget to join us during your class!
